About Me

My photo
Hi everyone, this is Quincy :) I am a freshman at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taipei, Taiwan, majoring in Finance. Being a college student, generally speaking, it is awesome. I can have enough time for sleep(according to research, co-ed sleep on average 8.4hours per day), learn things that I’m really in to, enjoy leisure and sport activities…etc. During my leisure time, when I don’t feel like hanging out with friends or after a day of exhausted classes, I love listening to music, watching dramas, reading novels, and playing some games on my laptop or apps on my cellphone. Do you sometimes find it difficult to kill time? Here, I want to share some fun stuff that I really enjoy to you guys, and I hope you like it, too. Perhaps some of you might have tried it before, then don’t be shy to leave comments. Welcome to my blog and nice to meet you all. If you have cool things that you want to recommend me, then share it, definitely let me know.:)Thanks.

Freerice.com

This time, I would like to introduce Freerice.com to you. As you click on the link, you will enter a website with a heading on the top saying “for each answer you get right, we donate 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme to help end hunger.” The title attracts me. Freerice.com is a non-profit website that not only provides free online education but also helps the poor by
giving them free rice. Each time you get an English question correct, the organization will donate 10 grains of rice to feed starving people. You might wonder, “How do they do it?” It is possible because of the generous sponsors who put advertisement on the site. Hence, they created the educational game. Though the game might not be fun, it is worthy to spend time playing. From another point of view, you improve your English vocabulary and in the mean time you help to end the hunger around the world! What’s better than that?

  1. What a brilliant idea it is! Recently I also become more sympathetic. Few years ago, I probably thought that I am not a billionaire, so I don't donate any money. However, now I realize that no matter how much money I have, as long as I want to help the needy, few dollars are enough. I hope that I can remind myself of helping people forever.

  2. Maybe a chinese version also can work, this website, I thinking in a different way, is promoting their culture too, by this way, all the world know the English and learn it. The second language for those non-english country are the English.

It just like a war in the culture, I know my idea just like a crazy man will think, but you can't deny some kind of my saying.
