About Me

My photo
Hi everyone, this is Quincy :) I am a freshman at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taipei, Taiwan, majoring in Finance. Being a college student, generally speaking, it is awesome. I can have enough time for sleep(according to research, co-ed sleep on average 8.4hours per day), learn things that I’m really in to, enjoy leisure and sport activities…etc. During my leisure time, when I don’t feel like hanging out with friends or after a day of exhausted classes, I love listening to music, watching dramas, reading novels, and playing some games on my laptop or apps on my cellphone. Do you sometimes find it difficult to kill time? Here, I want to share some fun stuff that I really enjoy to you guys, and I hope you like it, too. Perhaps some of you might have tried it before, then don’t be shy to leave comments. Welcome to my blog and nice to meet you all. If you have cool things that you want to recommend me, then share it, definitely let me know.:)Thanks.

Get News, Learn English, Together!

I recently found myself not catching up on the latest news. I put the blame on the dorm not having a TV since TV was where I used to get news from. There are still for sure a lot of alternatives, such as going to the student canteen to watch the TV news there, or reading newspaper in the common room, etc. Nevertheless, I am just not in the mood of getting up “early” in the morning, walking downstairs to the common room with my pajamas, and flicking through the newspaper. Nor do I want to spend time sitting in the student canteen watching TV news instead of chatting with my friends! Recently, I found this app though. “聽英文學英語” helps me to overcome the problem! You can get the latest news every day and moreover enhance English listening and reading simultaneously. While you are receiving the news, you can also increase your English ability. What’s better than that?

The app divided English learning into three parts. When you click on it, you can see three sections, including “VOA Special English”, “VOA Standard English”, and “PBS English Program” in level sequence from top to bottom. From the slowest speaking and easiest reading VOA Special English to the fastest speaking and hardest reading PBS English Program it was designed. Spend some time using your smart phone doing something significant! What are you waiting for? Download 聽英文學英語 immediately!

  1. Dear Quincy,
Oh! The app you suggested looks so useful! Just like what you mentioned, dorm life is the life without TV...I gave up the habit of reading newspaper every day since I lived in school> < And when there are a lot of projects or activities to join, spending time to sit down and read news seems unpractical.
It is so thoughtful that there are three levels for news in English~ By using this app, your English and news information must have great improvement! I would like to download it in my smartphone, too~

  3. Hello, Quincy,
Your new post seems like an advertisement, haha. The app you recommend looks really useful for me since I do need to improve my English and it is also necessary to grasp the latest news indeed. Unfortunately, my Padfone just got some problem few days ago, while my backup cell phone is not that "smart" to download and apply any app. What a shame! By the way, I found it charming that walking at campus in early morning; moreover, the feeling of getting up earlier than I often do is refreshing. Therefore, I suggest you to try it sometimes just in case you'll enjoy it maybe.
